Particulate; results

Chris Coleman pulled some brilliant works from across the country for his installation, Particulate. The black-market mp4 player knock-offs simply hung in single a row on all the walls of the gallery. It was a minimal and crisp installation. As the audience was drawn in to view the videos they experienced the visceral, the sublime and the hypnotic. dNASAb displayed a dynamic, dimensional, gestural chaos of beauty from somewhere between nightmare and recognition. Adam Weekley's bedazzled ski-mask mouth-hole made a captivating image, loaded with issues of masculinity, sex and emotion. His audio was mad. There is a place where Pop and Surreal meet; Alexander Renya's piece whirls together commercial images and moments into a media jungle-scape. The entire installation was elegant and potent.

LumpWest hopes this is a long relationship with artist Chris Coleman, and if you aren't aware of his personal work - look him up, he's a genius. LumpWest humbly thanks all the participating Particulate artists, whose work made such an engaging installation. All the artists involved are listed with their websites, research and enjoy.

Nice idea. Regarding art on MP4 players, check the excellent presentation Carlo Zanni did of his work "The Possible Ties Between Illness and Success" on an iPod sculpture: http://www.zanni.org/html/works/thepossibleties/ipod/ipod-installed4b.jpg

This concept has gotten my attention. As technology advances, artists are finding new and innovative ways of expressing themselves.
